Ropee Zap – a colorful jump rope created alongside Candy

Ropee Zap – New kids favourite?

Sometimes the idea behind a new jump rope is very simple: could we create something that challenges Candy as a favorite among kids?

Ropee Candy has long been one of our most popular beaded jump ropes, and it is easy to see why. Bright colors work especially well in a kids' jump rope – a jump rope should not only feel good to use, but also look like something a child actually wants to pick up and start jumping with.

That is how Ropee Zap was born.

Zap is a colorful jump rope combining 🩵 light blue, 🩷 pink and 💛 yellow. The result is intentionally bright, cheerful and easy to spot. We wanted to create another colorful option alongside Candy – and perhaps a new favorite among younger jumpers.

Why is a beaded rope a great jump rope for kids?

When choosing a child's first proper jump rope, the feel of the rope makes a big difference.

On a beaded jump rope, plastic beads around the inner cord give the rope some weight and structure. This makes it easier to feel the rope moving around the body compared with an extremely lightweight jump rope.

That feedback can help when learning timing, rhythm and basic jumping technique.

This is one reason why we think a beaded rope is an excellent jump rope for kids. But it certainly isn't limited to beginners.

A beaded jump rope can be used for basic jumps, alternate foot step, side swings, crossovers and a wide variety of freestyle skills. The same rope can therefore stay with the jumper as their skills develop.

A colorful jump rope is meant to stand out

With Zap, color isn't just a small detail. It was the starting point for the entire design.

At Ropee, we have always wanted jump ropes to be colorful. A jump rope may be a simple piece of sports equipment, but there is no reason for it to look boring.

Zap's 🩵🩷💛 color combination is designed to stand out in the playground, at school, in the gym or during jump rope training.

For a child, choosing the color of their own jump rope can also be surprisingly important. When children get a jump rope they genuinely like, it can become their piece of sports equipment – something they actually want to pick up and use.

And ultimately, that is exactly what we want from a jump rope:

to inspire movement.

Zap or Candy – which kids' jump rope should you choose?

There isn't really a right answer.

Candy has earned its place as one of Ropee's most popular colorful beaded jump ropes. Zap was deliberately created to sit alongside it, not to replace it.

If Candy has traditionally been the colorful jump rope that catches children's attention first, it now has a challenger.

Candy or Zap?

We think the kids can decide that one.

A jump rope that grows with the jumper

A good kids' jump rope doesn't have to be something that is only useful for learning the first few jumps.

Once the basics become easier, the same rope can be used to learn new footwork patterns and tricks. A jump rope journey can begin with one successful jump and eventually progress to long combinations, crossovers and freestyle.

That is why choosing a suitable size and a rope that provides good feedback is important right from the beginning.

Zap is part of the Ropee beaded jump rope collection and is available in different sizes, allowing the jump rope to be selected according to the jumper's height.

Ropee Zap – a new challenger for the kids' favorite

Zap started with one goal: we wanted to create a new colorful jump rope alongside Candy that could become a favorite among kids.

Now it's ready.
